Dr Laura Aguiar is a lecturer, researcher, and multimedia producer based in Northern Ireland.

​Her research and creative work focus on bringing people together through participatory filmmaking, archives, and community storytelling.She has produced a diverse body of work, including documentary films, virtual reality experiences, interactive websites, and exhibitions. She has written about participatory storytelling and community engagement, exploring their impact on individuals, organisations, and society.

Laura teaches on the BSc Cinematic Arts and MA Film & TV Production courses at Ulster University and is the co-founder and director of the Rathmullan Film Festival.
