Liam McLornan, who joined Queen's in 2014 and currently works in the newly refurbished Peter Frogatt Centre, received the award on 15 September 2016 at a ceremony attended by the Lord Mayor of Belfast in Belfast City Hall.  Liam beat off competition from finalists from Ulster University Coleraine campus and Ulster University Jordanstown campus to clinch the title.

This is the second successive year that a member of staff at Queen’s has won the award, with Phyllis Hamilton, a cleaner in the School of School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics, having picked up the award in 2015.
