This Carbon Smart Students course consist of 3 modules combining self-study, pre-course learning and online interactive presentations. The attendee is given an understanding of Climate Change science, climate justice issues, an overview of both global and local climate change impacts, information on policy developments at a global and local level as well as highlighting personal and community behaviour changes that will help reduce carbon emissions and reduce the impacts of Climate Change.

Attendees are asked to identify ways that they can take action to reduce carbon emissions through a ‘pledge’ and become part of the climate change solution.

The training aligns with the University’s commitment to reach Net Zero carbon emissions by 2040 and its Strategy 2030 commitment to embed the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across all teaching, operations and research activities.
