About SUQCESS (Supporting Queen's Care Experienced Students)
Thanks to the generosity of private donors, the Widening Participation Unit are delighted to launch the SUQCESS project. The SUQCESS project has been set up to celebrate and support our community of care experienced students. We aim to ensure that all students, regardless of their background, are given the resources they need to succeed at Queen’s.
What SUQCESS can do for you
SUQCESS recognises that every student is different, so we offer targeted financial assistance and academic guidance based on your needs. What students have used it for
Here are some examples of what students have used the SUQCESS Project for:
- Support with getting a laptop for studies
- Support with costs of travelling to placement/University/conferences relevant to course
- Support with textbooks for studies
- Support with getting appropriate clothing and transport to interviews
- Support with getting equipment for study such as nursing uniforms, medical scrubs, appropriate footwear for placement, medical equipment, digital software

Request for support from SUQCESS must be directly related to your academic studies or your academic career e.g. costs for books, stationery, printing, equipment, costs associated with attending placement/interviews etc. Please note that awards are given at the discretion of the WPU team. Applications for support can be made throughout the year.
