Easter in Belfast

Planning on venturing into the city centre for some seasonal celebrations? Visit Latin bar Revolucion de Cuba on Easter Sunday for a DJ set and welcome drink on arrival. For fans of ABBA, the Cabaret Supper Club is hosting a special Easter Sunday lunch, complete with a main course, choice of 3 drinks and musical fun. Or hop on the K-Pop bandwagon at the KPOP & The Demon Hunters Matinée Tribute on Friday 3 April (NOTE: the actual K-Pop Demon Hunters won't be there). Elsewhere, Haymarket is hosting a festive Bottomless Brunch over the Easter weekend (Friday - Monday).

For a late night dance and DJ session, check out Ollies on Easter Sunday or SHINE on Easter Monday. Don't forget these tips for enjoying a safe night out in Belfast.

For a more wholesome Easter activity, visit The Reporter for their Easter Market on Sunday 5 April and pick up some homemade goodies and local art.

Easter wouldn't be Easter without a sweet treat - pop over to Daisies in Belfast city centre for a taste of speciality chocolates and fresh pastries.

Put a spring in your step

Now that there's a 'quare stretch in the evenings', you will have plenty of opportunities to soak up some sun on a weeknight/weekend walk. Visit Walk NI for a guide to the best walking trails in Belfast, which includes information on distances and terrains. I personally recommend a dander along the Lagan Towpath, complete with a visit to the Lock Keeper's Inn for a coffee fix and sweet treat!

Belfast City Council is hosting a series of Wildlife Wellbeing Walks from 1 April - 24 June - take the opportunity to explore Belfast's various parks and connect with nature.

Spend a self-care day in Belfast

If you're after something a little more challenging, why not venture outside of Belfast and tackle a trail up the Mourne Mountains or along the Causeway Coast? Student Isabella has listed these among her favourite hiking spots in Northern Ireland - read her blog for further inspo!

For recommendations on running or cycling spots, check out this blog by graduate Tobias.

Alternative activities in Belfast/NI

Looking for some alcohol-free fun? The following events are guaranteed to enhance your Spring break in Belfast and beyond:

Take a day or weekend trip around NI

If you haven't had the chance to get out of the city to explore everything Northern Ireland has to offer, now is the perfect opportunity - with the Translink yLink smart card, you can get 50% off bus and rail travel in NI! Why not follow in the footsteps of Colombian graduate Isabella and plan trips to must-visit cities, towns and coastal villages throughout Northern Ireland and beyond, including Derry/Londonderry, Ballintoy Harbour, Ballycastle and Donegal.

Or if you'd like to go further afield, Dublin, the capital city of Ireland, is only a 2 1/2 hour journey from Belfast by car, bus or train. Lebanese graduate Ghada visited the city for several days - check out what she got up to below (including a trip to the famous Guinness Storehouse!):

Take a trip to Dublin

If day trips away aren't in your budget, don't worry - Medicine student Manya has some suggestions for free things to do in Belfast on a sunny day, including visiting the Ulster Museum, listening to live music in St George's Market, or taking a guided tour of the city.
