Andrew Phillip

Andrew Philip is a lecturer in film studies at Queens University Belfast. He was previously Knowledge Exchange Fellow at the University of Reading as part of the AHRC-funded IAA ‘Screen Industries Voices’ research project.

His practice as research PhD project included the production of a feature-length autoethnographic documentary as a means to investigate themes pertaining to memory, authorship, agency, and technology. Andrew has written about the characteristics of digital film colour in the context of his practice, published in the peer reviewed journal Comparative Cinema.

Andrew has also worked for over two decades as an editor, animator and visual effects artist on feature films and broadcast documentaries. He is currently working on various videographic essays.
