Xingliang Long is a PhD candidate in Film Studies at Queen’s University Belfast. His research focuses on rural migrants, subcultures, and spatial representation in contemporary Chinese independent documentary. He is particularly interested in how documentary form engages with questions of identity, political space, and everyday practices of rural migrants. His wider academic interests include visual culture, media theory, and the relationship between cinema and social change.
