Reboot Cafe: A Vibrant Social Space for All

If you’re looking for a change of scenery to enjoy a coffee, or a quick bite for lunch with a side of interactive entertainment, Reboot Cafe at Queen’s is the perfect spot for catchups, family days-out and competitive fun.

Where is it?

Reboot is located next to Starbucks at 92-96 Lisburn Road - right across the road from the MBC and the entrance to Belfast City Hospital.

What kind of facilities do they have?

The first of its kind on the island of Ireland, Reboot is a unique gaming cafe which offers the following:

  • Board games
  • Retro arcade gaming
  • Console gaming (including Xbox, PS5 and Nintendo Switch)
  • VR racing (including the exclusive Red Bull Formula One Racing Simulator in Ireland)
  • 30 high-performance PC gaming rigs

Board games and retro arcade classics are available on the ground floor alongside comfortable seating areas and a cafe that offers lunch items and (non-alcoholic) drinks; while the consoles are on the mezzanine and top levels, accessible for an hourly fee.

Reboot has partnered with Geek Retreat to provide a wide range of merchandise for fans of anime, sci-fi and superheroes - check out the merch display on the ground floor!

Is it a student-only space?

Reboot is open for both students and non-students - you won't need to present a student card to gain access to the building.

Do I need to be a professional/competitive gamer to play?

Reboot welcomes gamers of all capacities, whether you play competitively or have never used a console before. Console or PC gaming is also optional - you are welcome to pick up a board game (free to play) from the wide selection available on the ground floor, order a milkshake and play casually with friends!

If you are interested in PC/console gaming however, you can book a session here for £5 per hour (PSVR2 Racing and Red Bull F1 Racing Sim prices vary).

Do they serve food/drink?

Worked up an appetite after your gaming sessions? You don't need to travel far to satisfy your sweet or savoury cravings. Reboot has a varied food and drink menu which includes smash burgers, pizzas and themed milkshakes, as well as a monthly specials menu with affordable lunch options. You can also pop in for lunch without any pressure to play games.

Do they host any events?

Reboot's calendar is jam-packed with events catered to all gaming interests, from card tournaments and board game sessions, to competitive LAN tournaments. Follow @rebootcafequb on Instagram to keep up-to-date with their monthly schedules.

Is it family-friendly?
