Why study at Queen's

Choosing to study at Queen’s could be one the best decisions you ever make! We’re a university that prioritises academic excellence and is dedicated to helping you discover your potential.

Where Heritage meets Future Thinking

At Queen’s you’ll have access to facilities that bring your course to life. Our constantly evolving campus has received over £700million in funding to make it future ready.

From the state of the art McClay Library, to the cutting edge Computer Science Building, and purpose built School of Law, including a Moot Court Room, our teaching facilities have transformed our historic campus into an innovative learning environment for our exceptional students.

I chose Queen’s because I liked the prospect of exploring somewhere I’ve never been before. Belfast is very student-orientated; there are regularly student discounts. With the GB scholarship, I’m saving just under £2,000 per year. The people at Queen's and Northern Ireland in general are extremely friendly and genuine.James Hadley-Piggin, Devon

Scholarships worth up to £7,500 for GB Students

Queen’s believes in rewarding hard work and excellence. Which is why we offer a range of fantastic scholarships to students from England, Scotland, Wales, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

The best bit? Unlike many scholarships from other Russell Group Universities, our GB scholarship isn’t means tested or restricted to straight A students. That means, if you meet the conditions of your offer – whatever the grades – you could be eligible for a fee reduction plus other benefits.

The scholarship is automatically awarded to Students who meet the criteria and includes the opportunity to receive an annual £2,500* per year off your fees. Alternatively, you can choose a fee reduction + lifestyle benefits package which includes free flights, accommodation upgrades, and even free gym and cinema passes!

“I get a free off-peak membership for the sports centre, making it easier for me to join in with university sports, as well as some money off my tuition fees – university has never felt like such a bargain. I think I’d have come here even without the scholarship, but having it definitely puts Queen's well above the rest!”Rebecca Kershaw

A university that looks good on your C.V.

It might be strange to think of life after University! But a degree from Queen’s really is the starting point to a lifetime of career achievement.

96% of Queen’s Undergraduates are in employment or further study 6 months after graduation (HESA Destination of Leavers from Higher Education Survey, 2016/17).

We have a dedicated Career Guidance Team, a Degree Plus scheme which recognises and accredits Queen’s students for the personal initiative and a range of study or work abroad opportunities.

"I benefited from being taught by world-class professors, and my time was enhanced by getting stuck-in outside of class. From roles running the History Society to my time as Equality Officer for NUS-USI, or hours spent debating in the Literary & Scientific Society, to founding an anti-slavery group, it was an incredible few years."Henry Adams
