This award is exclusively for new international students beginning their first year of full-time study on the graduate entry Law Senior Status (LLB HONS) accelerated qualifying law degree at Queen's University Belfast in the academic year 2024/25 who meet the conditions of their academic offer.
No separate application for this scholarship is required. If you are holding an offer for graduate entry Law Senior Status (LLB HONS) accelerated qualifying law degree and meet the criteria as set out in these terms & conditions, you will automatically be awarded the LLB Senior Status International Scholarship upon enrolment.
All eligible international applicants will receive notification shortly after receiving their offer.
Who is Eligible: This merit-based award is exclusive to International Students who commenced a full-time and full duration undergraduate programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus. Exclusions apply.
September 2023 - eligible students who achieve a 75% GPA in the academic year 2023 will be awarded a merit-based award of £2000 in the subsequent academic year (unless on placement, whereby the award will be made the following year).
September 2024 - eligible students who achieve a 60% GPA in the academic year 2024 will be awarded a merit-based award of £3000 in the subsequent academic year (unless on placement, whereby the award will be made the following year).
Students who maintain a minimum GPA of 60% may receive this award in consecutive years.

Reduction in tuition fees for Year 1
- Who is Eligible: New international students with unconditional offers for the academic year 2024/25 may receive a discount of £1500 when paying their tuition fees in full* by the appropriate deadline.
- Application Process: No application necessary, however students must email proof of payment confirmation to International Scholarships by the appropriate deadlines.

A £1500 reduction in tuition fees is available to new international students beginning a full-time course in the academic year 2024/25 who hold an unconditional offer and pay tuition fees less any International Office awards including the Early Confirmation Award by the following deadlines:
- Undergraduate unconditional offer holders 15 September 2024
- Postgraduate Taught unconditional offer holders 15 September 2024
- Postgraduate Research unconditional offer holders not later than 90 days before the start date given in their offer letter

These scholarships are for students from least developed and lower middle income Commonwealth countries, who would not otherwise be able to afford to undertake Master’s level study in the UK, to gain skills and knowledge which will allow them to contribute to the development of their home countries.

Candidates must apply for both admission to the eligible course at Queen’s and for a Commonwealth Shared Scholarship by the closing date. Candidates should provide any information that they wish to be considered by 13 December 2022 closing date to facilitate the selection process. The University will consider scholarship applications according to academic merit of the candidate; quality of the plan of study; and potential impact of the work on the development of the candidate’s home country. The University will put forward their selected candidates to the CSC. The CSC will then confirm that the nominated candidate(s) meet the eligibility criteria for this scheme. Universities will inform candidates of their results by July 2023.
