Support Buildings

A world-class campus

Queen’s has more than 250 buildings, some 120 of them listed as being of architectural merit.

Over the past decade Queen's has invested over £350m in the improvement of facilities, including the Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology, The Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine, The Graduate School, the School of Law, Queen's Business School and the William J Clinton Leadership Institute at Riddel Hall. The University boasts the award-winning Naughton Gallery, one of Belfast’s most exciting art spaces, The Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry - reinforcing the University’s reputation as a world literary power, while the Brian Friel Centre for Theatre Research is a world-class studio theatre for performing arts students.

This substantial investment in our facilities has developed our historic campus into an innovative learning environment for our students and staff.

The investment is ongoing with new School of Biological Sciences and School of Mathematics and Physics buildings, currently under construction.
Plans are also underway to build a world-class Student Centre.

All of these facilities have been made possible through philanthropic gifts such as legacies.
