Programme Specific Regulations

1. The Certificate is taken during the Academic Foundation Year 2 research placement and is currently a 4 month full-time attachment.
2. Students must achieve an overall pass mark in the compulsory module to be awarded the Certificate.
3. Students must have successfully completed the module Academic Medicine/Dentistry Training and Research in order to progress to Diploma.
4. The Diploma consists of a Research Project undertaken on a part-time basis.
5. Students who fail a module may re-submit their extended abstract/research paper within six weeks.
6. Students who fail any module twice may not be permitted to progress and will normally be required to withdraw. All decisions on progress will be made by the Board of Examiners. Candidates who have passed the first module but who subsequently fail the Research Project may be awarded the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Medicine/Dentistry.
