EDUCATIONAL AIMS OF PROGRAMME
The overall aim of the programme is to provide a broadly-based education in Information Technology fundamentals and a firm foundation in Management, which will produce graduates equipped to undertake software development or use technology for a business advantage.
• Embark on careers as managers or developers within contemporary, technology-driven business environments.
• Understand the fundamental principles of Software Engineering, Information Technology and Management with an emphasis on application within a business environment.
• Use information technologies to build and develop globally competitive business practices and solve associated technological problems.
• Demonstrate a disciplined approach to the development and implementation of IT-enabled business processes for effective business operation.
• Advocate and adopt a user-centred approach towards the management and development of information technology systems.
• Exercise high levels of professionalism and an awareness of the wider business and legal environment in which information technologists operate.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills, encompassing team-working skills and effective oral, written, presentation and listening skills.
