Educational Aims Of Programme
On completion of the programme the student will be able to:
Apply the evidence base underpinning psychological trauma and loss;
Through examination of the relevant literature reflect on the victim / survivor journey;
Critically review the relationship between trauma and addiction;
Consolidate, extend and apply knowledge and understanding of the research process;
Critique the responses of International Agencies to global conflict;
Develop a critical understanding of the impact of transgenerational trauma on individuals, families and communities;
Evaluate the range of treatment modalities for psychological trauma;
Critique the nature and significance of vicarious traumatisation;
Develop a requisite set of graduate skills.

Notes
Level three modules are taught alternate years. WAV3017, WAV3018 and WAV3019 will be taught academic year commencing Sept 2023. WAV3020 and WAV3021 will be taught in academic year commencing Sept 2024.
This four year part time programme is only available to students commencing the BSc Psychological Trauma Studies in September 2021. Level 2 modules run alternate years, year one of the programme commences Sept 2021 with WAV2008, 2013 and 2014. WAV2011 and WAV2009 will run in year two of the programme commencing Sept 2022.
