Background

Chris joined the Centre for Educational Development in September 2025 as an Educational Project Developer.

Before this, Chris worked as a Learning Development Tutor with the Learning Development Service, supporting undergraduate students with academic skills through both classroom teaching and one-to-one guidance.

In 2019, Chris completed a PhD in English Literature at Queen’s.

Responsibilities within the University

As an Educational Project Developer, Chris works within the Centre for Educational Development on collaborative strategic projects across the University

External Recognition

Since completing his PhD, Chris has remained an active researcher, publishing widely on the works of Seamus Heaney. His monograph Seamus Heaney and American Poetry was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2022, and he has additional book projects forthcoming. He has also presented his research at national conferences.

Professional and Personal Interests

Beyond his academic and professional work, Chris is a musician and enjoys spending time with his Newfoundland dog, Carole.
