Event Overview

Update: This event is now currently fully subscribed. If you wish to join the waiting list, please email QUBeWell@qub.ac.uk

Due to popular demand & a sold out workshop in July, this event is now being ran for a second time on Thursday 12 August. Places are limited so register quickly to secure your space!

It is recognised that health and wellbeing are crucial ingredients of effective study and contribute to your enjoyment of a rich and fulfilling postgraduate experience.

Undertaking postgraduate and doctoral research is challenging and most people will experience stress or feel anxious at some point during their research degree. Staying well in mind and body is not always easy and it is understandable that it is much more difficult if personal, family or health problems arise.

This interactive workshop offers support to Queen’s diverse postgraduate research community and is designed to be accessible to all. A range of relevant topics exploring the challenges of postgraduate and doctoral studies will be explored.

These include:

  • Why do I procrastinate and how do I stop?
  • What are the impacts of managing stress, workload and competing demands in your research degree?
  • Why have I got to be perfect?
  • What are the qualities of an effective supervisory relationship?
  • Does your present academic identity create a feeling of inadequacy?
  • What are your social support networks?
