John Agnew FBA, Distinguished Professor of Geography, UCLA, 'Not that Border! The 2018 US-Mexico Border Crisis and the US Place in the World.'

Professor Agnew's research is focused on political geography; place and politics, territory, politics and governance, critical geopolitics; geopolitics of the world economy. As one of the key thinkers in this field, and as a highly awarded and proliferate scholar, his work has shaped much of the research on states, sovereignty and governance, borders and nationalism, and international political economy. Key publications include: Globalization and Sovereignty: Beyond the Territorial Trap (2nd Edition, 2017, Rowman & Littlefield), Hegemony: The New Shape of Global Power (2005, Temple UP), The Geography of the World Economy (6th Edition, 2014, Oxford UP) and Making Political Geography (2002, Arnold/Oxford UP).
