Abstract

This project aims to investigate how radical historical events shape cities. In particular, we test the impact of the Easter Rising on Dublin’s development as a city. By combining different historical data sources and extensive current data on the housing market, we explore the effects of the series of events that took place in different parts of Dublin in 1916 and their long-run consequences on the housing market. The proposed project will enhance our understanding of the Easter Rising's exceptional legacy in shaping Dublin's development over the past century.
