Tom Hadden's latest book highlights the inconsistencies between established human rights conventions and other international law regimes, such as humanitarian and armed conflict law, refugee law, and the UN Charter. The text presents a much-needed critique of the current state of human rights law and explains how its standards and procedures can be developed to meet major economic, social and environmental change. Tom Hadden has been based at Queen’s University Belfast since 1969. With his colleague Kevin Boyle, he helped to set the agenda for the Northern Ireland peace process and has been an influential member of successive Northern Ireland Human Rights Commissions.
