Sandra Scott-Hayward has been awarded an Outstanding Leadership award by the Open Networking Foundation (ONF), an industry-based organisation set up by Deutsche Telekom, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Verizon, and Yahoo!

The non-profit organisation is dedicated to accelerating the adoption of open Software-Defined Networking (SDN) which is revolutionising the networking industry.

Sandra was nominated for her work as part of the ONF Security Working Group. Described as the driving force behind the Group, she took up the role as Vice-Chair in November 2015 and has focused the group to produce relevant technical documents, to engage and liaise with other ONF WGs, and to provide a valuable contribution to the SDN community.

This is the second time Sandra, who has worked at Queen’s for four years, has received an ONF award.

Sandra said: "I'm delighted to receive this award, which helps to raise awareness of the work done by all members of the ONF Security WG."
