Michael's own journey as an academic has been one tailored to his passions for music and technology. Michael undertook postgraduate studies in composition at the University of Durham in the mid-1980s before joining the School of Music at Queen’s in 1989 as Composer-in-Residence. He devised and developed the Music Technology pathway at Queen’s and led the successful bid to develop the Sonic Arts Research Centre (SARC). Michael is now the Dean of Internationalisation for the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and helps to inspire students across the world to forge their own academic pathway with Queen's.

Muiris is Director of Graduate Studies and a Senior Lecturer in the School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics (HAPP). Muiris's current research interests relate to the politics and practice of state retrenchment and administrative reform and he is actively involved in a number of international research networks in these areas. Muiris has a particular focus on the Irish case and he holds the external position of President of the Political Studies Association of Ireland (PSAI). As Director of Graduate Studies in HAPP Muiris is a proud exponent of the longstanding history of collaborative research excellence at Queen's and he welcomes PhD supervisory enquiries on topics related to his areas of interest.

Margaret is Dean of the Graduate School and a Professor of French Literary and Visual Cultures. Her research trajectory has developed from an early disciplinary focus on one of France's canonical writers, Marcel Proust, to a firmly interdisciplinary approach to debates linked to travel, tourism and migration, and to the ethics and aesthetics of cross-cultural representation. Margaret is currently lead or co-supervisor for eight PhD students. In her role as Dean of the Graduate School, she is closely involved in research and good practice networks on postgraduate education and research and leads the School as a dynamic intellectual hub for postgraduate students.
