Once described as one of the most selective and extensive of collections in private hands, the Simms Medical collection is an outstanding assemblage of works concerning the practice of medicine and medical history. On display are 19th and 20th century texts and monographs, including first and early editions, in addition to works on the history of medicine and medical biography. The exhibition also includes pamphlets and unpublished manuscript material authored by Samuel Simms on a number of topics including the history of medicine in Ancient Greece, the United Irishmen and his lifelong passion for book collecting.
