Charity development strategy for Vasculitis Ireland Awareness

Activity Overview

Level of Study

Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught/Masters, Postgraduate Research

Award Type

Single Route

Vasculitis is a rare disease where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks its own blood vessels. It can cause severe damage if untreated.

Since few Vasculitis patients have contact with other people with the disease, we want to provide reassurance and support from others living with the condition. This helps prevent escalation of anxiety and reduces feelings of isolation to know there are others who manage daily and survive.

The aim is to develop the charity and its funding to increase awareness and support for its members. The charity already participates in several EU and national research projects, but would like to engage with medical professionals who manage the disease and, with their help, reach out to and support other patients living with the condition.
