Wellbeing on Weekdays (WOW) events are based on the Public Health Agency's 'Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing': Connect, Keep Learning, Be Active, Take Notice, Give.

This event will focus on 'Be Active'.

Students & Staff are invited to join us on Thursday 27 October for our HOPEWALK on-campus, in support of Papyrus Suicide Prevention Charity.

HOPEWALK is PAPYRUS’s flagship fundraising event which takes place each October across the UK. It’s an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for PAPYRUS and suicide prevention.

  • Meeting Point: Ground Floor Foyer, One Elmwood Student Centre & Students' Union
  • Time: 4:45pm to collect your free* T-Shirt.

The walk will take around 30-minutes. All attendees are invited back to the Ground Floor Foyer in One Elmwood immediately after the walk for tea, coffee, hot chocolate & some sweet treats!

*T-Shirts are limited to the first 150 registrations. However, you will not need a T-Shirt in order to take part.

There is a suggested donation of £2.00. 100% of funds will go directly to Papyrus. You can donate on the evening, or at any point before or after the event online directly: https://www.papyrus-uk.org/donate/

You are advised to wear warm / weather-appropriate clothes. You may wish to wear your T-Shirt over a hooded jumper. Please wear comfortable footwear. There are toilets in One Elmwood if you require some space to get changed, however, please allow additional time to collect your T-Shirt, as we will be leaving promptly at 5:00pm.

This event is being organised by Mind Your Mood, Queen's Students' Union, Student Disability & Wellbeing Services, and Papyrus.

This walk will take place around locations close to the Queen's Quarter. The route is gentle, and can be walked at whatever pace you require. The route will have step-free access, and will involve gentle slopes (descent, rather than ascent). If you have specific accessibility requirements that you would like to discuss in advance, please note these on your registration form. There will be staff, volunteers, and stewards at the events if you require support on the evening.
