Overview

Are you a postdoc or PhD student in Northern Ireland who is considering your career options?  Did you know that careers in the public sector are the first destination for PhD graduates?

Join us for this careers event on 10 June 2025 to hear from former postdocs and PhDs now working as Government staff and Civil Servants within various departments across our public sector.  You will have the opportunity to network in small groups and ask questions.

There will be a panel discussion where guests will provide hints and tips on the recruitment process for public sector jobs.

We will have representatives from the Department for the Economy (DfE), Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA), the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI), the Public Health Agency, Northern Ireland Assembly and more.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

We hope you will come along, enjoy making connections and discover more about careers beyond academia.
