It will be particularly relevant to PGRs and ECRs considering their first or second long-form publication, but is relevant to all, and will take the form of a workshop. It will be led by experienced publishing professionals from University College Dublin Press, one of the leading specialist academic publishers covering a range of Irish Studies related disciplines (see https://www.ucdpress.ie/). Questions to be addressed include: the future of the monograph and edited collection in academic publishing; what publishers are looking for from authors or editors in these formats; how best to prepare a book proposal; why publish with an Irish publisher; and what's the difference between a PhD dissertation and a book manuscript.

Noelle Moran is executive editor at UCD Press, with over 15 years of experience in both trade and academic publishing in Ireland and the UK.

Caitlin O’Neill is assistant editor at UCD Press and holds degrees in English, Creative Writing and Publishing from De Paul University, Chicago.
