Man Box Appeal

The School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences Gender Equality Committee launched a Man Box Appeal on International Men's Day 2019, for the collection of essential items for men affected by homelessness in Northern Ireland.

Homelessness can affect social well being, physical and mental health and can have devastating consequences.  There are many reasons for homelessness, from marital breakdown and debt to ill health.  In Northern Ireland the highest presenters of homelessness are males aged between 26 and 59, currently with a total of 4,350 known cases.  (*Statistics as at November 2019)

All donated items were deliverd to the Welcome Organisation in December 2019 and we would like to thank all Staff and Students who contributed to this appeal.  Your generosity and support has been greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

The Gender Equality Committee, SMDBS
