Why is this Study important?
To identify Crohn’s disease patients with systemic Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) infection using a new phage-based assay.

What the Study involves:
Recruitment of Crohn’s patients at Royal Victoria Hospital; written consent and 6 ml EDTA blood sample; testing for viable MAP using phage-based assay and culture methods.

Who can take part in the Study?
Adults with Crohn’s disease (new or established). Estimated 200–250 participants.
