AHSS Postgraduate Taught Programmes

Terms and Conditions for Deposits

1.1 You will be required to pay a deposit to secure your place on the courses listed below:

  • All Queen’s Management School postgraduate taught programmes – £1,000 deposit required(international applicants only).
  • LLM International Business Law including Placement – £400 deposit required.
  • MA Global Security and Borders – £400 deposit required.

1.2 This condition of offer is in addition to any academic or English language requirements.

1.3 If you do not pay the required deposit by the date specified in your offer letter, then your application will be withdrawn. However, in some instances it may be possible to make a late deposit payment. Please contact askahss@qub.ac.uk if you would like to reinstate your application so that we can confirm availability on your course.

1.4 Deposits are non-refundable except in cases where the applicant fails to meet the academic or English language requirements for entry. Individual cases may be considered in extenuating circumstances.

1.5 Deposits can only be transferred in cases where the applicant fails to meet the academic or English language requirements of one course but wishes to transfer to another course in the Faculty, where they do meet the entry requirements, subject to a place being available. Please contact the Faculty Office (askahss@qub.ac.uk) to discuss your options.

1.6 Applicants who have secured funding for the full tuition fee amount from e.g. employer, scholarship or government sponsorship (excluding Postgraduate Tuition Fee Loans) will not be required to pay the tuition fee deposit provided that satisfactory evidence of the award of funding is made available to the University in advance of the applicable tuition fee deposit deadline.

1.7 If you are planning to fund the total cost of your studies through a Postgraduate study loan, you will still be required to pay a deposit to guarantee your place. A full refund of your deposit will be made once you have taken up your place and cleared tuition fee funds have been received by the University from the Student Loans Company.
