Go Global Week will take place from 06 - 09 October 2025!

We are running a series of in-person workshops, where you get to chat to organisations that can offer you an experience of a lifetime to study, work or volunteer abroad during your degree.

The highlight of Go Global Week is our Go Global Fair which will take place on 08 October from 12noon - 2pm in the Mandela Hall in One Elmwood, where we welcome a range of organisations to the Mandela Hall, One Elmwood so they can showcase the international opportunities available to Queen’s students, as well as highlighting the range of programmes organised or funded through the Global Opportunities Team.

Events Taking Place During Go Global Week 2025

Your Passport to Short-Term and Summer Activities

Monday 06 October 2025 

1:15pm - 1:45pm, The Cube, One Elmwood

If you're looking for a taste of international life without committing to a full semester or year, this Go Global Week session is for you.

Learn about the exciting range of short-term programmes and summer schools that allow you to explore a different culture, develop new skills, and live in a different country.

Discover opportunities like the Utrecht Summer School, where you can study a variety of subjects in the Netherlands. For those interested in a remote experience, we also have Think Pacific Virtual Internships, which allow you to work on real-life projects supporting communities in Fiji from your own home.

You'll learn how you can spend your summer studying or interning abroad, broadening your horizons, and returning with a new perspective, all while gaining valuable experience that enhances your CV.

Your Guide to Study Exchange

Interested in experiencing Europe?

Discover how a study exchange can enhance your degree, broaden your horizons, and boost your confidence.

Whether you want to explore new ways of learning in Europe, immerse yourself in the culture of a country like Canada or Australia, or spend a full academic year in the USA through our dedicated Study USA programme, this session is for you.

You'll learn about the wide range of study exchange programmes available at Queen's and how a global experience can help you make new friends, become more self-reliant, and gain a fresh perspective. Don't miss this opportunity to start your journey towards a global future!

Go Global Fair

Wednesday 08 October 2025

The Go Global Fair is the highlight event of Go Global Week, it will take place on Wednesday 08 October 2025 in the Mandela Hall in One Elmwood.

Come chat to organisations that can offer you an experience of a lifetime to study, work or volunteer abroad during your degree, grab a coffee and a slice of pizza and enter our Fair competition!

Study USA Information Session

Wednesday 08 October 2025

3:30pm - 4:30pm, The Cube, One Elmwood

Are you interested in spending a year studying in the USA through a generous scholarship programme?

This information session will provide an overview of the Study USA Programme, eligibility criteria and application process.

The Study USA programme is run by the British Council Northern Ireland and involves one academic year studying at a US university or college. As well as a choice of elective classes, successful applicants will be studying a combination of subjects related to your home degree and subjects from the list below:

Communications, Public Speaking, Leadership, Marketing and PR Management, Human Resources,

Information Technology, Foreign Languages, Finance, Economics.

Approximately 50 places are available at institutions from Florida to Montana or Washington to North Carolina.  Applications open to students in their second year of study from any discipline in September 2025, for participation in the programme the following academic year.

Global Internships and Programmes

Are you looking to boost your CV, develop your skills, and experience a new culture all at once?

Join us to explore the wide range of international work placements and internships available to Queen's students.

Whether you're interested in a leadership programme in at a major global city, a research internship, or a paid placement in a science or engineering field, we have an option for you.

We'll cover exciting programmes like the Washington Ireland Program, the Queen's Global Leadership Programme, and opportunities in the USA through J-1 Visa programs.  Come find out how to take your career global and gain an invaluable experience.

Francesca spent a year on the Study USA programme at DeSales University, Pennsylvania and has returned to Queen's to complete her studies to the LLB Law undergraduate qualification.

Lili participated in the Queen's Global Leadership Programme which included a week in Boston, Massachusetts and has returned to finish studying towards a Business Management degree.
