Solar System Science

Orbiting our Sun are eight planets and millions of asteroids, comets, and Kuiper belt objects that hold the clues to how planetary systems form and evolve. We perform observational studies with ground and space-based telescopes to unravel these clues.

Asteroids, comets and Near-Earth Objects are investigated in the inner Solar system to understand their composition and potential sources for activity. Our group members are also exploring the climate on Mars and probing the distant Solar System's small body reservoirs with optical and near-infrared photometry.
