Race Equality Week Breakfast 2025 – Celebrating Progress and Sharing Voices

We were delighted to host a special breakfast event on Tuesday 4 February 2025 in the Canada Room and Council Chamber to mark Race Equality Week.

The event was opened by Professor Peter Robertson, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

Our keynote speaker, Israel Eguaogie, Founder of Diverse Youth NI and Co-ordinator of Belfast City of Sanctuary, delivered a powerful and thought-provoking address.  We were also honoured to receive a video message from Ms Lilian Seenoi-Barr, SDLP Councillor and Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council.

Staff and students from across Queen’s shared inspiring highlights of the work they are leading to advance racial equity within the University.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to mark this important occasion and to all those driving meaningful change in our community.
