Calling all practices academic year 2020-21

Thank you for supporting GP in the QUB Medical Curriculum in challenging times

At the start of June we have sent an email to all practices who have taught QUB medical students in the past academic year.

We have also emailed you if you taught in the preceding year.

If you have not heard from us then please use the contact us section of this website to let us know so that we can provide you with all the information

There is a lot of uncertainty regarding medical education in a time of Covid. It would help us to hear what you can and can’t do, and what creative approaches you think might work to provide students with clinical contact. We commit to keep listening in order to understand the challenges and give whatever support we can. You can let us know by using the contact us section of this website.

How you will ultimately host students and in what activities, will, by mutual consent, depend on the Covid arrangements that prevail in your practice.

The remuneration to Practices taking medical students is conducted through an SLA with the SUMDE (Supplement for Undergraduate Medical and Dental Education) office of the Department of Health. At time of sending the availability email to practices in June 2020 the SUMDE rates are unchanged from 2019-20. We will update you with any advice the Dept. of Health will advise on Tariffs in the context of Covid-19.

The “availability tool” Excel spreadsheet should be returned by Friday 19th June 2020
