Pressures in General Practice

A recognition of workforce pressures and the issue of capacity In GP

As we seek your support to expand the curriculum in GP we do so mindful of the pressures being faced. We know that you will have to think longer and harder about your scope and capacity to host medical students. On the other hand there is strong recent evidence of the impact of GP placements on future career choice (http://www.gponline.com/extra-general-practice-placements-students-likely-choose-gp-career/article/1425503). So acknowledging this ‘Catch 22’ we will continue to work with you to see how together we can provide attachments in GP which you can sustain.
