The iconic CS Lewis Reading Room is a serene reading space, decorated with glass-engraved inscriptions from the Belfast author's works as well as a hand-carved replica of the famous wardrobe door from The Chronicles of Narnia.

The McClay Library, which opened in 2009, blends the best features of a traditional library with the latest technology.
It brings together wide-ranging library, computing and media services in a single location as well as offering study facilities suitable for quiet study and group work.

The Library's collections support teaching and research in the arts and humanities, science and engineering, the social sciences and law.
It also offers over 2,000 reader seats in a mixture of formal and informal spaces, plus a significant number of PCs and WiFi access throughout.
A 21st-century environment
Queen’s has built up a superb collection of books, manuscripts and periodicals over the past 160 years.
The Library houses 1.2 million volumes. Facilities include IT training rooms, a Language Centre, support areas and a cafe, as well as the University’s Special Collections, subject-related inquiry points and a vast range of printed works.
