Employee Assistance Programme Manager Support

The University’s EAP, delivered by Spectrum.Life provides staff with easy access to a wide variety of mental health services and practical supports to help them through a range of personal or work-related issues, while equipping them with the tools they need to proactively protect and manage their own mental health.

The EAP can also support you, as a manager, through any of your own personal issues and help with any unique issues you may face as part of your role. The EAP also offers help and guidance around managing staff better when there is an issue you feel unable to deal with yourself.

Having access to an EAP means employees can reach the help they need directly, as and when they need it, with little or no input needed from you. Your EAP helps relieve some pressure off of you, and  ensures your duty of care is fulfilled whilst helping to protect your organisation against potential future litigation

  • Please read the Manager's Guide here to help you fully understand the EAP, its features and benefits, how it works and how to refer an employee to the service when appropriate.

Confidential support for personal and professional issues

Through the University’s EAP partner, Spectrum.Life, staff can access confidential support for personal and professional issues that may affect their home life, work, health, and overall wellbeing.

Depending on the nature of the issue, advice, guidance, or counselling will be provided by fully qualified professionals, and all services are available at no cost.

Staff can access the EAP helpline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Call free on 0800 086 9934

When using the EAP, please provide the unique PIN QUBSTAFF and follow the steps.

Resources include counsellor support and information services for issues such as:

  • Neurodiversity
  • work stress
  • depression
  • marriage and relationship issues
  • coping with change
  • parenting issues
  • legal concerns
  • financial problems

The helpline also provides support, advice and guidance to managers if they have a concern about a staff member and they need to understand what to do.

Continuation of EAP Services with Lena by Inspire

Following the transition to the new EAP provider, Spectrum.Life, please note that there will be no disruption to any existing EAP support. Staff members who are currently using, or have previously used, Lena by Inspire can continue to access its services without interruption until the end of their current support cycle.
