Leadership and Management Development
Inclusive
Impactful
Our People and Culture Strategy, People First, commits to creating an environment where all employees are enabled to take responsibility for their own progression and development. This commitment extends to our leaders and managers who play a key role in successfully achieving our strategic priorities through our people.
In line with University and Public Health guidance, all face-to-face learning and development events have been paused. Where possible these events are continuing through online delivery and we are identifying new ways in which staff can continue with their personal development at this time.
Developing your Leadership Impact
Our 2016 Staff Survey identified an action, "to improve the visibility and impact of our leaders”. In response, a Leadership and Management Framework has been co-created by the leaders across the University. The Framework sets out what leadership excellence looks like by defining the behaviours and responsibilities required to successfully lead and manage at Queen’s. The Framework is a developmental tool which can be used by leaders and managers to assess their leadership capability, it can also be used to support developmental conversations between an employee and their manager.
The Framework informs our Queen’s leadership and management development programmes including our Connected leaders suite of programmes as well as our Leading and Managing at Queen's programme which will help build the capability and impact of our leadership community.
