Painting/Drawing Competition

A painting/drawing competition is being organized as part of a two days international virtual conference on the topic “Un/Predictable Environments: Politics, Ecology and Agency” scheduled to be held on May 20-21, 2021.

The idea is to encourage local artists from Prayagraj (Allahabad) to draw/paint on the theme- “Environmental Problems and Concerns in the 21st Century.”

Two art-works will be selected by a panel of jurists and will be awarded a sum of 200 British Pounds each. 

Art-works will be selected from the following categories:

  1. Art created by a professional artist trained in traditional art or trained by art academy,
  2. Art created by non-professional artist that may include art academy students or artists outside the university structure.

The selected art-works will be displayed and kept in the Common Room of the School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics, Queen’s University, Belfast, United Kingdom. There will also be a virtual exhibition of selected art-works.

Who can participate?

Only artists residing in Prayagraj (Allahabad) are eligible to participate in the competition.

Any artist above the age of 18 years is eligible for participation.

Once the art-work is selected, the winner will be communicated through email and will be asked to submit all the proofs of age and other relevant documents. The winner will be announced only after full verification of credentials. 

Participants need to draw/paint, click photograph of the same and submit online in jpeg format only. Size of jpeg file should not exceed 100MB. 

Participants should give title to their art-work and few explanatory sentences to give context to their art-work.

Piece of art-work should be original and personally executed.

Only one submission per participant is acceptable. More than one submission disqualifies the candidature.
