Dr. Kieran Higgins is a Lecturer (Education) in Sustainable Development, based within the Gibson Institute for Land, Food & Environment, a research and education institute within the School of Biological Sciences at QUB. As a behavioural scientist, his primary research interests are in understanding human attitudes to environmental resources through economic and psychological approaches, with a particular focus on how value is assigned. His current research focus is pedagogical in nature, with a key interest in approaches to the teaching of sustainable development. Kieran contributes to the BSc Environmental Management and MSc Leadership for Sustainable Development programmes across the topics of environmental psychology, behaviour change, sustainable economic systems, industry skills, and social science research methods.
