Institutional and School of Pharmacy Athena SWAN Award Celebrations

Colleagues from across the University gathered in the Great Hall on Thursday 9 January 2020 to celebrate the recent SWAN achievements:

  • an Institutional Athena SWAN Silver Award
  • a Departmental Silver Award for the School of Pharmacy

In addition to the recent successful renewal of an Athena SWAN Silver Award for the Institution, Queen's University now holds 14 Athena SWAN departmental awards, comprising of two Gold, seven Silver and five Bronze.

We certainly have a lot to celebrate here at Queen's and these prestigious Athena SWAN awards highlight the continued commitment of our colleagues across the University.  This event was a wonderful opportunity for staff to unite in celebration of gender equality.

"The atmosphere here in the Great Hall this afternoon is definitely one of celebration. The people that have come together have worked really hard in the Athena SWAN application process and in the delivery of action plans."

Professor Adrienne Scullion, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, AHSS

"Gender Equality is everyones job in Queen's, and to that end, it's everyones success."

Professor Karen McCloskey, QGI Director
