Travelling to Derry/Londonderry

By Air: Derry/Londonderry has its own airport, the City of Derry Airport (LDY). You may find it cheaper or easier, depending on your departure location, to travel via Belfast or Dublin. You can then easily travel on to Derry/Londonderry by bus, train, or rental car.

Belfast is served by 2 airports, Belfast International Airport (BFS), just outside Belfast, and Belfast City (George Best) Airport (BHD), close to the city centre.

Direct flights are also available to Dublin Airport from most major cities.

By Train: Derry/Londonderry is served by a rail connection to Belfast via the extremely scenic north coast route. The current timetable for the train service is here.

By Bus: There are frequent bus service connections to Derry/Londonderry. The Maiden City Flyer between Belfast and Derry/Londonderry operates every 30 minutes from Monday to Saturday. The Goldline Express from Dublin operates every two hours daily.

There are also Airporter direct coach services available to and from the three Northern Ireland airports to Derry/Londonderry. You can book these online at www.airporter.co.uk.

By Car: Travelling to Derry/Londonderry by car takes around 1.5 hours from Belfast and around 3 hours from Dublin. Car hire is available from all airports.

 

Accommodation

There are a variety of accommodation options located near to the Nerve Centre, including hotels, hostels and B&Bs. Here are a few well-recommended hotel or B&B options, located within a half-mile of the venue. Derry/Londonderry is hosting many events this year, and it is suggested that you book your accommodations well in advance of your stay.

 

Currency

Delegates should note that Northern Ireland, where the conference is located, uses the Sterling (UK pound) currency. The Republic of Ireland uses the Euro currency.
