Meet Your Postgraduate Community at the Graduate School
Postgraduate study can feel quite different from undergraduate life - more flexible, more specialised, and sometimes more isolating. At the Graduate School, we’re here to help you connect, take a break, and find your postgraduate community.
Feeling Connected as a Postgraduate Student
At the Graduate School, we understand that postgraduate study can be a very different experience from undergraduate life. Your academic focus is more specialised, your schedule is more flexible, and your peers come from a wide range of academic, cultural, and professional backgrounds. These differences can make it harder to find your place, especially when independent study or smaller course cohorts can leave you feeling isolated or lonely.
At the Graduate School, we want to be here to help you meet your postgraduate community!
Graduate School Social Events
We offer a variety of social and wellbeing events designed to help you meet fellow postgraduates, take a break from your studies, and feel part of something bigger.
Whether it’s crafting, our murder mystery, or the Big Graduate School Quiz, our student engagement team hosts regular events to help you connect and unwind. Events are posted on MyFuture four weeks in advance and are open to all postgraduate students, including Masters, PG Cert/Dip, and PhD.
We schedule activities during the day and evenings to suit different timetables and do our best to accommodate everybody. If you have any suggestions for future social events, we always have open ears. Maybe you could even put in a 'Postgraduate Led Initiative' funding application, and get up to £400 to host your own community building event!
Yoga for Postgraduates
