Guthrie House

Student Accommodation

Guthrie House

This purpose built student accommodation is adjacent to the site of the new Student Centre which is under construction. The demolition of the previous Students’ Union building has been completed and therefore the accommodation was not used during this period in 2020-21; the building work on the new centre is now well advanced. In recognition of ongoing site-noise during the working day, the fees for this property have been discounted for 2021-22, rooms to the rear of the building are more affected and are discounted more accordingly.

Guthrie House is suitable accommodation for undergraduate students.

  • It is in a great location just opposite the main University buildings in Fitzwilliam Street.
  • The accommodation is purpose built for students and is divided into six flats, each accommodating 13 or 14 students,
  • One large kitchen and one common room in each flat.
  • All study bedrooms are bright and spacious and have a washbasin, bed, desk, and wardrobe.
  • Bathrooms are shared by 6–7 students.
  • Cleaning of communal areas is carried out on a weekly basis during core teaching periods.
