Controlled Drugs

Controlled Drugs are substances were their possession, use and supply are subject to legal restriction to prevent them from causing harm, being misused or being obtained illegally. University research departments generally do not require licences to possess and supply drugs in Schedules 2,3 4 Part 1, 4 Part 2 and Schedule 5, but they do require licences to produce any of these drugs and to produce, possess and supply drugs in Schedule 1. Holders of controlled drug licences are required under the terms and conditions of their licence to submit an Annual Compliance form to the Department of Health by the end of January each year.
