Consultation Exercises

Equality screening of new and revised policies

In fulfilling the University's obligations under Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998, the University's Equality Scheme includes a commitment to consult on the implementation of new and revised policies, as defined by the Equality Commission Northern Ireland, with regards to equality of opportunity and good relations.

The University would welcome your feedback in relation to the following:

  1. Equality Scheme (2024 -2029)

  2. Equality Scheme Action Plan (2024 - 2029)

The Audit of Inequalities 2023 is a core element of our five-year cycle review programme to update the Queen’s University Equality Scheme and associated institutional Equality Action Plan for 2024-2029.

The findings from the Audit have supported the development of the draft Equality Action Plan and the Audit document can be read in conjunction with the draft Equality Scheme and Action Plan currently being consulted upon.

If you are an External Consultee, please submit your feedback here.

This consultation launched on 31 July 2023 and will close on Monday 23 October 2023 at 5:00pm.

This consultation period is 12 weeks as per the University's Equality Scheme (2018-2023) to allow adequate time for groups to consult amongst themselves as part of the process of forming a view and to enable the University to meet the required internal approval deadlines.

Please note that the University will not be responding to individual and/or organisational comments received either during or after the consultation period has closed.

ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS – QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY EQUALITY SCHEME 2024-2029 

If you would like more information about the draft Equality Scheme and Action Plan, the consultation process and how you can feedback your views, please come along to one of the following engagement sessions.  These are open to all staff and students.

  • Monday 18 September: 2.00pm to 4.00pm, online (MS Teams)
  • Friday 6 October: 10.00am to 12.00pm, Lanyon 0G/074
  • Wednesday 18 October: 9.00am to 11.00am, Newark Room and online (MS Teams)
