Activity Overview
Level of StudyUndergraduate
Award TypeSingle Route
JAM Junior Academy of Music provides QUB UG students with unique opportunity to assist with music teaching classes to children (age 4-18). JAM includes around 200 pupils enrolled across four different programmes. Pupils are taught by specialised tutors, in both group as well as individual classes. The activities include Music and Movement, Musicianship, Choir, as well as Strings, Brass, Guitar and Flute ensembles. Undergraduate students would be selected to participate as assistants to tutors, getting basic teacher training. Their involvement would be gradual: initially the assistant students would be helping the tutors leading a music activity, and over time would be expected to engage with children by leading activities
