Friar’s Bush Graveyard is thought to be Belfast’s oldest Christian burial ground, possibly dating back to pre-Christian times. It also contains the mass grave of hundreds of victims of Belfast’s cholera epidemics. As well as being home to Barney Hughes, the socialist reformer and inventor of Belfast Baps, hear tales from Plaquey Hill to the Penal era.
This walk is of a slow pace but be careful with footwear due to the uneven grounds of the graveyard.
