After working in the law field for 10 years, mum of four Izyan decided to make a complete career change to study Inclusion and Special Educational Needs, inspired by her daughter's rare disease journey. Izyan’s daughter Eshal Saffiya lives with the rare disease chromosome translocation of 17 and 2.

Izyan said: “The unwavering love for my daughter who has special needs propelled me onto a different career path—one that is fuelled by a profound purpose. I am driven by the challenges and triumphs of raising a child with a rare disease and want to become an advocate for inclusive education.

“Armed with the knowledge from my academic studies and the love nurtured through personal experiences, I strive to be a beacon for those navigating the same journey. The journey is ongoing, but each step is made worth it with the laughter and resilience of my daughter.”
