Conference of the African Scholars Association of Ireland (AfSAI) at Queen's

Queen's University and partners will host the 2023 Conference of AfSAI on 9 and 10 November this year.

On the 9-10 November, QUB African Scholars are hosting the 2023 Conference of the African Scholars Association of Ireland (AfSAI) at Queens University Belfast.

The conference theme is 'Countdown to Change: Championing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the United Nations International Decade for the People of African Descent (UNIDPAD)'. 

Keynote speakers are Prof Estomih Philip Mtui (Weill Cornell Medical College, USA) and Dr Abel Ugba (University of Leeds, England). 

Papers will be presented from students, staff and independent scholars from across the island of Ireland.

"We welcome your involvement", says Dr Eiman Abdel Meguid of Queen's University's African Scholars Research Network. "The venue for Thursday, 9 November is Lecture Theatre 1, Medical Biology Centre (MBC). And on Friday, 10 November, the conference will take place at the Great Hall.
