Visiting scholars

Be a visiting scholar at the Centre for Translation and Interpreting

The Centre for Translation and Interpreting at QUB has hosted visiting scholars from around the world and welcomes applications from academics of all levels of experience. Spending time as a visiting scholar provides an ideal environment to work intensively on a manuscript for publication, benefiting from the expertise of our research staff and from QUB's extensive library resources. With this in mind, we encourage prospective visiting scholars to get in touch well in advance of their proposed start date to discuss their research plans.

Visiting scholars are provided with:

  • Regular meetings with experienced QUB academics to develop your research
  • Full access to the QUB library
  • QUB identification card and afiliation
  • Access to research seminars and lectures across the university
  • Access to postgraduate workspaces
  • A QUB email address

A bench fee of £600 per semester (dates please see the University Calender) is payable to QUB for visiting scholar status. Visits shorter than one semester are charged at £200 per month.

During the summer months, discounted accomodation is available in the student village. Contact accomodation@qub.ac.uk for up to date information on prices and availability.

Please contact Prof Piotr Blumczynski at p.blumczynski@qub.ac.uk for further information on how to apply or to discuss your proposed research.
